#wbbride of the Month

Mrs. October

How is it already October?!? We were deciding on this month’s bride of the month and we could not believe that it has been a year since this #wbbride tied the knot!! Her wedding was like something out of a royal fairytale and we are so happy to announce that our Mrs. October is the one and only, Victoria Ahmadi Smith! Her and her hubby Andrew recently celebrated their one year anniversary which makes it perfect timing to re-live her big day!

Warren Barrón Bridal: We love a good “how did he ask” story! How did Andrew pop the question?

Victoria:  My sweet husband, Andrew, proposed to me on a beautiful spring evening in March 2018. He led me to believe that we were going on a typical date night to our favorite restaurant, Hillstone. After dinner he made up an excuse for us to drive by the park. He had set up (with help from his mom and sister) a super romantic scene at Williams Park surrounded by dozens of candles and photos from our 5 year dating journey. He got down on one knee and popped the question with the perfect pear-cut diamond that I had always dreamed of! I couldn’t say yes fast enough :)

Warren Barrón Bridal: Every bride has a vision for what her big day will be. What was the inspiration behind your wedding and was there a part of the process you liked the most?

Victoria:  The inspiration for the wedding as a whole was regal and royal. I wanted it to have a lot of traditional elements but to be over the top with details. Our wedding planner, Mary Frances Hurt, was very wonderful and very much on the same page. As far as the vision behind my gown, I was channeling my inner Queen Victoria 100%!

My favorite part about planning was getting to do everything with my mom, who is my best friend. We have the same vision for a lot of things and are both very decisive people so it was a breeze. Creating our custom neon sign with GRÖ Designs was a very cool experience. I used the exact words and hand writing from a love note that Andrew had written me. We surprised him with it at the wedding and it was a major hit! It also served as the backdrop for our MirMir photo booth.

Warren Barrón Bridal: For those who do not know, your family store, Sebastians, is our neighbor at Warren Barron which means you have seen many gowns while window shopping in Snider Plaza, but when it finally came time to decide, what made you choose your gown/gowns and what did you love most about it/them?

Victoria: I wanted my dress to not only be something that flattered my body but to make people‘s jaws drop! I was so lucky to have not one, but TWO Monique Lhuiller dresses! For my reception dress, I really wanted it to embody my personality and the ultra girly aspects of who I am. We ultimately had a design and with the help of Elle Warren and Michael Faircloth, we transformed a simple ML style into my dream dress adorned with a drop sleeve giant bow in the back! It gave major Bridal Barbie vibes!

My favorite part about my ceremony gown was that it represented me in so many ways but was also timeless. I knew that years from now I would be showing those photos to our grandchildren and I wanted my gown to be something that they’d love and appreciate. My reception gown makes me smile even thinking about it because it was so customized and made me feel like an old Hollywood movie-star in couture Valentino. What’s not to LOVE!
