#wbbride of the Month

Mrs. July

Happy Monday Babes! Another month has come and gone, which means it’s time again for our #wbbride of the Month! July is a big month for weddings but one we will never forget is the wedding of our Mrs. July, Catie ‘Sims’ Scott. Her effortless, chic, classic, timeless, (we could go on and on) wedding is one that we will never forget and we couldn’t wait to relive it with her a year later!

Warren Barrón Bridal: Of course, this whole wedding started with a proposal! So tell us, how did he pop the question??

Catie:  On the beach in Seaside, Florida. We had dinner reservations and while walking to the restaurant he said "let's walk down to the beach" - I know I gave him that "are you serious?!" look since I had taken the time and effort to put makeup on and wear heels. So after much convincing I took the heels off and marched myself down the steps and into the sand. Moments later he asked me to marry him - it was a beautiful night! (side note: after the proposal as we came up to wash our feet off at the beach side showers I accidentally turned on the top knob and drenched myself from head to toe haha - so he carried my sand covered shoes and my soaked clothes back to our condo so I could change before dinner :))

Warren Barrón Bridal: So as the planning process began, what was your inspiration for you big day??

Catie:  From the start the words 'classic' and 'timeless' kept coming to my mind and they were words that I would remind myself of when choosing certain aspects of our wedding. These words stemmed from a picture captured of my maternal grandparents walking down the aisle at their wedding in 1950 - my grandfather was wearing a white tuxedo jacket and my grandmother was carrying a bouquet of cascading gardenias. The picture is magical - they look like movie stars!

Warren Barrón Bridal: What would you say was your favorite part of the entire planning process??

Catie:  Dress shopping of course! The few places that I tried dresses on my mom, Ruth, was my sidekick through the whole process. I am an Oklahoma native, but my husband Ben is from Georgia. I moved away from my family in Oklahoma to start a life with Ben in Athens, Georgia. Looking back on the time I had with my mom it will be something that I will cherish forever. She was by my side every step of the way - we had so much fun. Spending time with her was the best. She is who I learned 'all the things' from. I will say that we loved dress shopping - they were ALL so pretty! It was a blast.

Warren Barrón Bridal: Obviously the question we have all been waiting for! Why did you chose your gown and what was your favorite part about it?

Catie: I chose the Monique Lhuillier 'Emerson' gown and WOW! I can still remember putting it on for the first time. It was instant LOVE! I really did feel like a million dollars! The structured bodice with the full and flowing skirt - amazing! Of all the dresses I put on it was the ONE that encompassed the timeless feel I was wanting.

The tufts of fabric on the ballgown skirt added just the right amount of volume, drama and depth. The fabric was a silk gazar - so light and flowy (great for getting married in July). But, I would say my favorite part was the bodice which I felt did have a bit of a modern twist. The points on either side with the tulle covered center provided the right amount of detail.

Timeless and classic are the perfect words to describe Caite’s big day! Her pictures are and will continue to be some of our favs! So effortless and chic.

Congrats on your first year of marriage girl and cheers to the years to come!
